Residents, businesses and community leaders are being asked to get involved in shaping a new long term strategic plan designed to ensure the council delivers the services they need and tackles the problems facing the district.

Called ‘One Teignbridge – Working Together for a Better Future’, the plan will focus on the priorities and aspirations of local communities and employers and over the coming months there will be a range of opportunities for people to help shape the plan.

The first is a series of in-person residents’ workshops being run across the district in April, which are designed to enable local people to give the council its views on the challenges they face. Participants will receive a £25 Love2Shop gift voucher as a thank you for taking part in the two-hour residents’ workshops which will be held in ten different locations.

Businesses are also being encouraged to engage with the plan’s development and to complete a short survey setting out their views on council priorities.  Separate in-person workshops are being organised to capture the views of community leaders.

Executive Member Cllr Jackie Hook said:

“We want you to help us understand what it’s like to live, work or study in Teignbridge and to help us make sure that what’s important to you is what’s important to us; and that our projects and services deliver on these priorities.

"We want people from a diverse range of backgrounds to get involved to ensure all council projects and services better serve all in our community."

The new strategic plan will replace the Teignbridge Ten which was drawn up before Covid and the economic crisis and doesn’t really focus on current challenges.
